Rhona Goskirk of Emmerdale found out recently that her ex-husband Gus had taken her frozen embryos and that his wife Lucy was expecting a child. But this evening, the convoluted plot took a tragic turn.
Despite Rhona Goskirk’s (Zoe Henry) biological tie to Gus (Alan McKenna), Emmerdale viewers are certain that Charity Dingle (played by Emma Atkins) will be the one to raise the child.
Rhona, who was stalking Gus’s house during Thursday’s ITV soap opera episode, was shocked to see him attempting to flee with suitcases.
The village veterinarian was shocked to see his heavily pregnant wife Lucy standing in front of her, clutching her growing tummy, after she confronted him.
Before Lucy tripped and realized her waters had broken, Rhona confronted her in the street about the pregnancy.
Before long, Rhona was taking Lucy to the hospital and praying that both she and the unborn child would make it.
But later in the episode, when Gus emerged crying from Lucy’s hospital room, things took a terrible turn.
He hugged Rhona and sobbedly told her that Lucy had passed away during childbirth, shocking Rhona beyond belief.
Rhona confided in her mother back in the village because she felt guilty for Lucy’s untimely death.
After the touching episode, fans took to Twitter, with some suggesting that Charity, who had a devastating miscarriage the previous year, might be the villager raising the baby.
