Fans are worried about Belle Dingle’s romantic proposal to Tom King, which took place during Thursday’s hour-long episode of Emmerdale on ITV.
The “biggest mistake of her life” was Belle Dingle’s (Eden Taylor Draper) proposal to the “evil” Tom King (James Chase), according to Emmerdale viewers.
In the most recent episode of the Yorkshire soap opera, Belle took Tom to an ice rink in Leeds, where Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean surprised him with a performance.
Tom, who loves the Olympians, was overjoyed. Shortly after their performance, Belle proposed with a single knee lift.
She was relieved when Tom agreed to propose, and they kissed in front of onlookers on the ice. Viewers are still aware of Tom’s violent past, though.
Doreen Morfitt posted on Twitter, saying: “You make a proposal in an ice rink, which entails getting down on one knee in wet ice. Never considered that one through, Belle It makes sense that Tom’s warning signs are hidden from view in #Emmerdale.”
“Belle’s about to make the biggest mistake of her life #Emmerdale,” a second viewer merely cautioned.
Jack posted the following along with a red flag emoji: “Belle is proposing to Tom. “Let the reindeer loose; they’ll take him down; he’s evil, #emmerdale.”
Pete said, “Belle is a right mug to marry that woman beating p***k #emmerdale.” As for Dion, she issued the following warning: “Don’t marry him, Belle, he’s not right #Emmerdale.”
Eden and James, the stars of Belle and Tom, talked to Express.co.uk about their engagement before the romantic episode aired on ITV.
“I do think Belle thinks he is the love of her life,” the actress said, addressing the horrifying moment Tom shoved Belle over months before her proposal and left her bleeding. It was undoubtedly a significant event, but everything that followed was really good.
Thus, I believe it was just one of those things she forgot about very fast. She is thinking that in the back of her mind, “Wow, I am so in love with you.”
Valentine’s Day is the couple’s planned wedding day; will everything go according to plan? Will Tom honor his word and never touch Belle again, or will the tragic events of the past happen again?
