EastEnders’ Linda Carter star asks ‘Are you joking?’ as she’s exposed as Christmas killer

For the entire year, viewers of EastEnders had been eager to discover which of The Six women would become the Christmas killer and their victim.
The cast of EastEnders, Kellie Bright, has shared her feelings about being informed that her character Linda Carter would be the murderer. After Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) threatened Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) when she disclosed that Albie Watts (Arthur Gentleman) wasn’t his son, Linda fatally stabbed him last night.

Linda, Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) were gathered around a dead boy in the Queen Vic when the BBC soap opera aired a special flash-forward episode in February, hinting at a shocking death.

After the hour-long special last night, there was a 15-minute spin-off called EastEnders: The Six – Whodunnit, hosted by former EastEnder Joe Swash, during which Kellie broke her silence regarding Linda stabbing Keanu.

Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) was informed by Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) that Keanu was the one who orchestrated their son Albie’s abduction.

Enraged, he stormed over to Sharon and revealed the truth, forcing her to call off the nuptials and admit he wasn’t Albie’s dad.

He later confronted Sharon in the Vic, but arrived minutes after Denise smashed a glass bottle over Nish Panesar’s (Navin Chowdhry) head after he turned violent against Suki.

As Nish was feared dead, Keanu came to the Vic and started becoming aggressive towards Sharon but in a moment of madness, Linda grabbed a knife and stabbed Keanu.

During the spin-off, Kellie was seen joining executive producer Chris Clenshaw to discuss her role as the murderer and left her stunned at the news.

Kellie exclaimed: “Are you joking? Oh no. I don’t mind being the murderer. Oh Jesus, why have you done this to me? I didn’t see that coming.”

Additionally, she was seen asking Chris about the body on the ground. When she discovered she would be bumping off Keanu, she was shocked.

Fans of the show expressed differing opinions on whether Linda was the murderer on their X accounts, which were formerly known as Twitter.

“My concern with Linda being the murderer is that this might be the end of her character,” stated @MummyToADiva.

“I hope she’s not found guilty and then walks away. In order to save her from #EastEnders, hopefully the girls will come together.”

“I’m just laughing because, at the beginning of 2023, we were told that Linda will be at the center of a huge big storyline,” said @Louvienne_. and that detail was kind of forgotten by everyone? #Eastenders.”

@danielgilbert joked: “Merry Christmas to the ultimate bad b*h Linda Carter with her black belt in serving ctal arts #Eastenders.”

“Of course it’s Linda killing Keanu!” exclaimed @FehnAdam. Of course, oh my! #EastEnders LMAO.”

“Cannot believe I waited 10 whole months just to see my favorite Linda Carter as the murderer,” @KellieBrightLY wrote. Really captures the unfortunate events of this year #EastEnders.”

@GXLDWING laughed: “The way I shouted “Linda no” and then 10 seconds later proceeded to shout “LINDS DO IT” continuously will forever be funny to me #EastEnders.” (sic)

Chris previously expressed his satisfaction with the storyline’s performance throughout the year, saying, “Since February, we’ve been extremely pleased with the positive response to the Flash Forward and The Six storyline.

“The Christmas Day reveal is truly an episode to watch live on Christmas Day; it’s been a long time in the making.

“We’re overjoyed by the excitement surrounding The Six. It’s exactly what we hoped would happen: we hoped that people would converse, speculate, and develop their own theories, which they would then share with one another.

“We wanted it to be a storyline that brings the viewers together too, and we’re over the moon that it seems to be doing that and the audience is enjoying being a part of it.”
