Star of Home and Away Johnny Ruffo passed away at the age of 35 after a fight with brain cancer, and condolences have been pouring in.
With his family and partner Tahnee by his side, the actor, who portrayed Chris Harrington on the popular serial opera from 2013 to 2016, passed away “peacefully” on Friday morning in a Sydney, Australia hospital.
A message posted on his Instagram profile said, “We had to say goodbye to our beloved Johnny today with a heavy heart.”
With the help of amazing nurses and doctors, Johnny passed away quietly, surrounded by his partner Tahnee and family.
He was a pleasant, gifted, and occasionally mischievous youngster. Johnny had a strong will and was highly determined.
“He fought to the very end, giving it everything he had.” A lovely spirit with so much more to offer.
“Johnny, you are loved by all of us and will always be remembered for the joy you brought into our lives.” Feel at ease.
Many celebs from Home and Away and Neighbours expressed respect in the post’s comment section following the tragic news.
The famous actress from Home and Away, Dannii Minogue, wrote: “The cheekiest chap.” Many will miss his voice, grin, and dancing feet. Considering his family during this difficult moment.
Roo Stewart’s actor Georgie Parker made the following statement: “Sending love to Johnny’s family, friends, and loved ones.” He was hilarious, intelligent, and really diligent—truly a one-in-a-million. The fact that he’s gone is absurdly harsh. Now go rest, Johnny.
“Oh Johnny,” remarked Penny McNamee, who portrayed Tori in the show. He was the first cast member I had ever met on @homeandaway, and he struck me right away as friendly, witty, and humble.

In a touching tweet, Ben Turland, star of Neighbours, who spent 11 seasons as Jordan Walsh on Home and Away, called Johnny a “gem” and said, “I remember sitting in the greenroom on my first day at Home and Away when I was 17, absolutely s****ing myself.”
After introducing himself, [Johnny] volunteered to help me with my scenes and have lunch with me. The most gentle dude.
Following a hospital stay for excruciating headaches in 2017, Johnny was given a brain cancer diagnosis. That summer, he was hurried into surgery to have a 7 cm brain tumour removed from his frontal lobe.
Following treatment with chemotherapy and radiation, he experienced months of remission following the diagnosis; nevertheless, he disclosed in November 2020 that the illness had returned. He verified the brain cancer diagnosis was fatal in August of last year.
