Coronation Street’s Stephen Reid plans getaway as Jenny Connor’s life unravels

According to spoilers for Coronation Street, the murderer Stephen Reid has a plan to leave Weatherfield, but his girlfriend Jenny Connor is too preoccupied with issues at home to agree to go with him.

Todd Boyce’s character on Coronation Street, Stephen Reid, has a plan to escape Weatherfield this week as the police are closing in on him, but it appears that his plans may be derailed by the most recent development at the Rovers Return.

He tries to convince his new love Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews), according to ITV spoilers for upcoming episodes, to travel to Thailand with him.

He is trying to convince her to go with him, claiming he wants to get away from everything, when the Rovers’ new owners throw a wrench in the plan.

Jenny and her team are shocked to learn that the beloved pub will be closing for extensive renovations and that all employee contracts will be terminated with immediate effect when the manager of the Waterford shows up.

Despite Adam Barlow (Sam Robinson)’s insistence that there is a claim for unfair dismissal, Jenny has been forced to seek refuge with her former stepmother Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox) after losing both her job and her home.

Despite Stephen’s assurances to Rita that they won’t be under her feet for long—they should be traveling to Thailand—things proceed in a different direction.

The police have evidence showing that neither Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) nor his father Teddy (Grant Burgin) traveled to Canada, DS Swain informs Jenny.

Naturally, Stephen already knew this because he killed both men, but as Jenny makes the case that Teddy spoke with Stephen from Canada, the murderer starts to feel fearful that his heinous deeds might be discovered.

However, as the Waterford workers begin to board up the Rovers in preparation for the renovations, Jenny is too preoccupied to notice his anxiety.

She observes their work on the property with Glenda Shuttleworth (Jody Prenger), Daisy Midgely (Charlotte Jordan), Sean Tully (Antony Cotton), and Gemma Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell).

When Gemma says she’s applied for the deputy manager position with Waterfords, her problems become even worse.

This makes Daisy furious because she had assumed Jenny would receive it, and it adds more pressure to the already-stressed former landlady.

Will Stephen be able to persuade her to leave with him despite all the activity on the street so that he can flee justice for his crimes?
