Fans of Emmerdale weren’t too happy with Cathy Dingle, who has been criticized for acting like a “brat” ever since she was diagnosed with PMDD.
Although Cathy Hope of Emmerdale may have PMDD, the way she is managing it is not well received by the audience.
The child’s mental health issues, which were considered to be related to her periods, led to an official diagnosis of the disease earlier this month.
Premenstrual dysphoric disorder, or PMDD, shares many symptoms with PMS but is far more severe. These symptoms include headaches, joint and muscle discomfort, as well as behavioral difficulties like binge eating and sleep troubles.
She has been having a hard time accepting it and has been frequently berating her family, especially her father Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw).
Fans expressed their outrage at the teenager’s attitude after another argument with her father in the most recent episode.

However, the episode came to a troubling ending because Cathy had made a significant choice on her course of action.
When Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) searched online for ways to treat her PMDD, she discovered that the only way to completely eliminate it was to have her reproductive system removed.
Her ovaries would need to be removed via bilateral oophorectomy, which also entails a full hysterectomy.
However, this completely surprised Bob, who promptly put an end to any conversation about it.
After making this decision, she went to see her doctor, Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), to get his opinion on moving forward.
Although Liam said it might work, he added that Cathy wouldn’t be a good candidate for the procedure due to her young age.
Despite this, she was still able to locate an American surgeon who would be willing to conduct the surgery.
