TRUE SHOMANCE Real-life couples in EastEnders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale in self-isolation together

The cast will spend more time at home with filming suspended, but which of the actors would be working with their soap colleagues? Here’s what you need to know on who cast members are dating…

Joe Duttine and Sally Carman

On the cobbles, Corrie stars Joe and Sally discovered more than just an acting job. they had hit it off whilst filming Corrie in 2018 and after being seen holding hands had been on a series of clandestine dates. They also announced at the end of last year they are now living together in an Instagram post.

Alan Halsall and Tisha Merry

Alan Halsall refers to her co-star Tisha Merry on Coronation Street.

Earlier this month Alan shared an Instagram snap of him cuddling up with partner Tisha and daughter Sienna-Rae, telling fans he and his family were in quarantine for weeks.

He caught the post:’ Got what I need to quarantine myself.’

Since wicked nanny Jade threatened to take her sister Hope away from Tyrone and Fiz after she was revealed as the villainous daughter of John Stape, Alan’s character Tyrone is now embroiled in one of Corrie’s greatest storylines.

The two hit it off on Emmerdale’s set in 2006 and were a few years back.

In 2018, the co-stars got reunited and are now parents of sons Buster, Bowie and Ace. The couple agreed to give it another shot in 2015, following a short break in 2013.

At the time Matthew told the Daily Record: “It’s never been a lifelong breakup, we just wanted some time apart.” He continued: “Life just gets on top of you sometimes. At the moment, we had a horrible two-year-old and needed time to look at what we had so that was the best we could have done.” “I am maybe more reflective, more optimistic now.

Lesley Dunlop and Chris Chittell

Lesley and Chris, who play Brenda Hope and Eric Pollard in Emmerdale, are another couple to have paired up in the Dales.

The lovebirds on-screen are married in real life but the actors fall for each other even before the relationship began with their characters. In 2008, they found love on the stage, and tied the knot in 2016.

The couple got married in the coastal village of Coverack, Cornwall, at a church service at St Peter’s Church.
