The Witcher season 2 has reportedly cast a Game of Thrones actor as Nivellen.

The cast of Witcher season 2 has again expanded After initial claims that Kristofer Hivju would star in the Netflix series, Redanian Intelligence now says that the actor of the Game of Thrones-who played Tormund Giantsbane in the HBO episodes-is a confirmed member of the cast of season 2.

The report says Hivju should play Nivellen, who has starred in the short story "A Grain of Reality" by Andrzej Sapkowski. The supposed confirmation came through a cast sheet that identifies the actor from an aristocratic family, codenamed "Nigel" by the production team as a "charismatic, clever, and funny man."

In the original story, Nivellen is a cursed man with beastly powers, living in a secluded manor house think the Beast from Beauty and the Beast.

The initial reports came after executive Stephen Surjik revealed the casting on Instagram by mistake. Surjik wrote in a now-deleted post that they were scouting locations for season 2 of The Witcher, and tagged Henry Cavill (Geralt), Anya Chalotra (Yennefer), and Hivju. While social media activity isn't always an accurate barometer of what's going to happen next, it was certainly enough to excite fans.

Peaky Blinders actor Paul Bullion is reportedly set to play Lambert, while Yasen Atour will portray Coen.
