Samara Weaving on the dark side of leaving Home and Away

Samara Weaving has confessed that after leaving Home and Away in her early twenties, she struggled to get acting gigs.

From 2009 to 2013, the 29-year-old played Indi Walker on the renowned serial, before moving on to have a successful career in Hollywood.

But, after leaving Home and Away, Samara revealed it wasn’t an easy journey to celebrity, claiming she encountered several “reality checks” along the way.

“I began working when I was fourteen years old. I then moved directly to Home and Away after doing another program called Out of the Blue “Digital Spy was told by her.

“I believe I had a basic understanding of how the industry operates. ‘Oh, I got the two positions I auditioned for,’ I thought. ‘This is simple.’

“And after Home and Away, I had to work really hard on my acting, and my manager suggested that I consult a drama coach. And I went nearly two years without working. It was a stark reminder of what an actor’s life is like.

Samara, the niece of Australian actor Hugo Weaving, said that obtaining a role in the 2017 comedy/horror The Babysitter “opened the door” for her in the United States.

“However, I believe that only 1% of actors in the SAG [Screen Actors Guild] are working. It’s difficult, “she stated

Samara has had a supporting role in the highly acclaimed drama Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, for which she won a Screen Actors Guild Award, since her days in Summer Bay.

She also acted opposite Adam Brody and Andie MacDowell in the horror film Ready or Not and Bruce Willis and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in G.I. Joe: Ever Vigilant.

However, the Adelaide-born actress has scored the part of a lifetime in the new drama series Nine Perfect Strangers, opposite Nicole Kidman.

The limited-edition series is based on Liane Moriarty’s acclaimed novel of the same name. If that name seems familiar, it’s because she’s the author of the critically acclaimed novel Big Little Lies and the associated television series.

Jessica, one of the nine strangers, is looking for a better way of life at a boutique health-and-wellness resort, and Samara plays her.

The resort’s director Masha, played by Nicole, keeps an eye on them during their vacation. She is a woman on a mission to re-energize their brains and bodies.
