Fans of Neighbours may still be heartbroken at the prospect of the show ending this August, but it has now been confirmed that they will have a chance to say their final goodbyes to the famous soap next year during Neighbours: The Farewell Tour.
The tour will take place in March 2023 around the UK, with eight events featuring members of the cast reflecting on the show’s history and allowing fans to reminisce about their favorite Ramsay Street memories from the last three and a half decades.
One of the tour’s events will take the place of the postponed Neighbours: Live in Conversation, a sold-out production that was set to take place at London’s Adelphi Theatre in 2020 to commemorate the show’s 35th anniversary.
Due to the epidemic, the show was postponed, but ticket holders will again be able to see it at the London Palladium, with seven additional concerts planned across the UK.
“We knew that the love for the show might see it tour the UK when Neighbours: Live in Conversation sold out within 24 hours,” said Dean Elliott, producer at Maple Tree Entertainment. “There is no better moment to take to the road than to celebrate the end and to honour its rich and storied legacy.”
“We were very sad when COVID-19 restrictions meant that the original show couldn’t take place, but now we’ll be hosting an even bigger event, rescheduling the Adelphi show to the iconic London Palladium and adding in an extra seven dates throughout the UK. We can’t wait to put on a show that the fans will love and deserve.”
After 37 years on the air, the long-running soap is slated to expire on August 1st this year, but not without some poignant goodbye guest appearances.
