In Neighbours, Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) battled to hold back her affections for Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), kissing him during emotionally stressful situations.
As viewers will recall, the popular character took it upon herself to move in with Paul after he was seriously injured during the storm calamity that resulted in the destruction of the Flamingo Bar.
Over the last few weeks, Paul has made every effort to win her back, even attending a therapy session where he discussed his childhood trauma and the effect it has had on his life.
Terese, on the other hand, was concerned that Paul’s poor behavior was so deeply embedded in him that he might not be able to completely change as a result of the session.
After receiving a clean bill of health from Karl Kennedy, Paul pledged that he would, but it didn’t take him long to revert to his old ways (Alan Fletcher).
Paul pretended to be in a lot of pain and refused to tell Terese about his test results, fearful that she would abandon him now that he was on the mend.
In fact, he stated that he needed a new doctor because Karl was not up to the task. Terese was even more concerned about his decision, but she promised to help him find a specialist.
She subsequently told Susan (Jackie Woodburne) that she still loves Paul and that seeing him so terrified makes her afraid since she’s realized she needs him to be okay
Paul was delighted, and when Terese came into the bedroom to check on him, he begged her to stay, revealing that her presence is all he needs to make him feel better. With emotions running high, the two shared a kiss.
Is this is a sign of things to come? Are the once-happy couple on the road to recovery?
