As the repercussions from Ari’s death continue to be felt across Summer Bay, Felicity panics when a thoughtful Tane talks about their future together on this week’s episode of Home and Away in Australia…

Following Ari’s (Rob Kipa-Williams) untimely death, everything appears to have come to a halt in the Parata home after a harrowing few months.

Ari was on remand when he died of a rare form of severe cancer while covering for Chloe (Sam Barrett) inadvertently killing her father Matthew (James Sweeny). Mia (Anna Samson) planned for her and Ari to marry in Ari’s hospital room as his condition deteriorated, and the couple exchanged some sorrowful vows seconds before Ari collapsed.

Ari was able to die quietly with his family by his side once the paperwork was finally finalized.

The Parata whanau participated in a traditional Mori tangi to honor Ari’s life in the days after before Tane (Ethan Browne) and Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) performed a haka as they began their journey with Ari’s body back to New Zealand.

Tane was supported throughout by his girlfriend Felicity (Jacqui Purvis), but Flick acknowledged to Bella (Courtney Miller) that she felt out of place joining everyone in the Parata household in their time of need because they’d only been together for a short time. Bella needed to tell Flick that she was important to Tane and that he wanted her to be there.

Tane returns from New Zealand this week to an onslaught of new responsibilities, as he is forced to assume the role of family patriarch. Tane and Nik are both feeling a sense of emptiness at home because Mia can’t stand being in the house.

Tane’s face lights up as he finds Flick dancing carelessly to music on her headphones when he goes to the caravan park to visit her. Tane is in desperate need of a pick-me-up right now, and she’s just what he’s looking for.

Tane confides in Flick and tells her about the strain he’s under to step up for his family’s sake. Despite the fact that Ari turned over his half of the gym to Tane soon after his incarceration, he still has financial concerns as well as his status in the family.

Tane assures Flick that despite everything Mia has lost, he sees a bright future for them… a home, children, and so on. Flick, on the other hand, puts on a brave face, only to be confronted with a difficult problem when she realizes they may be seeking different things in life.

“This is a massive moment for Flick,” Jacqui Purvis told TV Week. “That fear of commitment rises and she panics.”

“If she tells him, he may not want to be with her,” Jacqui continued. “Flick could ruin this relationship by getting in her own way.”

Flick had a tough life after their father committed suicide, despite having big brother Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) to count on. Cash, seeking guidance, persuades Flick that she must be honest with Tane about her feelings.

The flick takes the plunge and tells Tane that she isn’t sure whether she wants to marry or have children, but she is taken aback when Tane asks her to go, telling her that he can’t do it…

Has Flick thrown away her chance of happiness with Tane?

Ari’s passing has made others in the bay realize how important it is to be surrounded by family.

Following Martha’s (Belinda Giblin) refusal to accept a life-saving kidney transplant from daughter Roo, the Stewarts have been increasingly fractured in recent weeks (Georgie Parker).

Roo hasn’t spoken to her mother in a long time, and after more fights between Ryder (Lukas Radovich) and Alf (Ray Meagher) heightened the tension in the house, Martha decided to return to Merimbula.

Although Alf has reconciled with Ryder after apologizing to Theo (Matt Evans) for blaming him for Ryder’s accident, there is still a rift between Roo and Martha.

Roo told Alf last week that she’s worried about Martha since Ari’s death, and that she wouldn’t be able to forgive herself if something happened to her while she was in Merimbula. She finally summoned the nerve to call her, but as they chatted, she saw the tension building and cut the discussion short before it devolved into an argument.

This week, Alf invites Roo to accompany him on a visit to Martha in Merimbula, but she declines. While Roo presumably understands the importance of making the most of the time she has with her mother, she can’t bring herself to play happy families while Martha appears to be given up on life.

When John says that he understands Martha’s concern about putting her child in danger and the prospect of long-term medical complications, Roo wonders if he has a point…

Meanwhile, this week, Justin (James Stewart) continues the tradition by expressing his desire for a family get-together. When Alf told Justin last week that after Ari’s departure, he was thinking of Martha, Justin acknowledged that he was also thinking of his family, particularly Theo.

Justin is aware that Theo has a strained relationship with his father Dimitri (Salvatore Coco), and when he asked if Theo missed his father in the garage last week, Theo immediately shifted the subject. Despite the fact that there is bad blood between them, Justin assured Alf that family is family…

Justin, on the other hand, is unaware of the true nature of Theo and Dimitri’s hatred. After overhearing a phone call Theo was having with his mother a few weeks ago, John (Shane Withington) realized Theo was scared of his father.

Theo was compelled to admit that Dimitri used to beat him, and he begged John to keep his secret because he didn’t want to destroy Ada Nicodemou’s heart by disclosing what her brother is truly like.

So far, John has kept his word and has not spoken to Justin.

So when Justin casually recommends a family gathering to Theo, Theo flatly rejects it.

Will Justin agree to withdraw the idea because he only wants to create bridges, or is Theo set to meet his terrible father once more?
