Home and Away airs abrupt exit story for Jasmine Delaney

The final scenes of Jasmine Delaney from Home and Away have aired on Australian television.

Sam Frost, who played Jasmine, left the show in December 2021 but has continued to appear on screen as the soap tapes its scenes six months before airing.

Jasmine made her farewell appearance in Australia on Thursday’s triple bill of episodes.

Jasmine revealed some information about her late spouse Robbo Shaw’s family in a scene with Alf Stewart and Marilyn Chambers.

Jasmine decided to go out to the Shaws’ farm to help out because Robbo’s mother Wendy had suffered a heart attack.

Jasmine also told her sister Rose Delaney about her plans, expressing her disappointment that she would be departing just as they were getting to know each other.

Rose had recently spent the night in a car with Jasmine’s boyfriend Cash Newman after they’d gotten drunk together, so the timing was unpleasant for her. Cash didn’t want to come home to Jasmine inebriated.

Despite the fact that nothing had happened between them, Rose felt bad for how it could have been interpreted. When an unaware Jasmine requested Rose to keep an eye on Cash while she was abroad, things got very unpleasant.

Jasmine said her goodbyes to Cash as well, telling him how fortunate she was to have discovered him. She didn’t get a scene with her brother Xander to say her goodbyes.

After Jasmine had left, Cash reassured Rose that he had kept their secret to himself.

Cash demanded that their revelation wait until Jasmine returned from the farm, despite Rose’s desire to be honest.

In actuality, there are currently no plans for Jasmine’s character to return to Home and Away.

Last year, Sam stated that she would be taking a hiatus from the show to get her COVID vaccines. Due to a requirement enacted at the beginning of the year, all cast members of Home and Away are required to be vaccinated.

Sam later declared that her leave would be permanent, which was a change of plans.

A spokesperson for Channel 7 said in a statement sent to Digital Spy: “We support and respect Sam’s decision to leave Home and Away. Sam leaves with our sincere thanks and very best wishes for the future.”

According to show insiders, Sam’s departure had nothing to do with the prior vaccination debates.
