Hollyoaks’ Cher McQueen (Bethannie Hare) has hit rock bottom in the wake of another rejection.
The former influencer, as viewers will know, has been struggling with her mental health in recent months, following an ordeal at the hands of online trolls.
She felt unwanted and unloved, feelings which were strengthened when she discovered that Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner) had slept with Mercedes.
Desperate for revenge, she sought advice from online pal Jade, who encouraged her to take revenge. However, her mission to poison Mercedes backfired dramatically, when dad Sylver (David Tag) drank from the poisoned punch, and he nearly died as a result.
Cher was desperate to make amends in the aftermath of the incident, but the McQueens were having none of it, with Mercedes evicting her, while Sylver disowned her.
Left with nowhere to go, Tom Cunningham and Yazz Maalik (Haiesha Mistry) offered Cher their sofa, but it didn’t take long for her to feel unwelcome, and therefore she lied to the couple in Monday’s (September 20) edition of the soap, claiming that she and Sylver had made up.
Romeo, meanwhile, spotted her in the park and – realizing she was homeless – he offered her a place to stay. Cher was overwhelmed with gratitude, but she misread the signals, believing that he wanted to get back with her.
When Romeo made clear that he just wanted to be her friend, Cher once again felt unwanted, and thus declined his offer of a bed and headed for the door.
Romeo was evidently concerned about her mental health, and thus he sought out Sylver, begging him to track down his daughter – reiterating that she needs help and support.
But Sylver still felt unable to forgive Cher for what she did, and failing to understand the importance of the situation, he ordered Romeo to leave at once.
Cher, meanwhile, packed her bags, got all dressed up and posted a live video on social media, as she attempted to do her make-up. Her mascara, however, kept running down her cheeks as she cried.
What’s more, her stream was watched by no-one. ‘You’ve not seen the half of what I’m capable of,’ she said, grabbing her bags and heading out the door.
Romeo did all he could to track her down, but to no avail.
Will Cher be okay? Will Romeo or Sylver be able to locate her before it’s too late?
