Right now, TJ and Molly are at odds over going forward with another surrogacy-they could decide against it; but what if Andrea Gates (Lily Anne Harrison) lied?
General Hospital Spoilers: Sometimes Surrogates Can’t Go Through With It
Anyone who has ever used a surrogate to become pregnant knows that sometimes these women are unable to bring the pregnancy to term due to their emotional attachment to the child.
This is most likely to occur if the surrogate uses her own egg to make the embryo, in which case the child will be half her father’s and half her own. This is what transpired when Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) became pregnant with “Baby Ben” after carrying an embryo from Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).
To cut a long tale short, Britt and Adam Huss’s relationship ended because “Baby Ben” is now Finn Francis Carr’s character, Rocco Falconeri. When he discovered that the baby was actually his sister’s embryo, obtained through deceit, he couldn’t let her give it up since she was too devoted to him. However, the embryo wasn’t requested; rather, it was taken.
GH Spoilers: Perhaps Andrea Gates Didn’t Miscarry
Maybe Andrea felt the baby move that far along in the pregnancy, which made things seem genuine, and she didn’t actually miscarry the child she had promised TJ and Molly.
She’d had her own kids and successful pregnancies, but perhaps she’d wanted another child and wasn’t able to have one for whatever reason. It is possible that she and her spouse changed their minds after deciding they didn’t want children and having him sterilised. A variety of scenarios could have occurred.
However, there would have been legal ramifications if they had attempted to back out of the agreement—which was a contract—with Molly serving as the assistant district attorney.

It’s possible that TJ and Molly would give up on surrogacy, which would hurt Molly’s heart because TJ isn’t ready to move forward and she feels nervous.
Since Port Charles is not a large town, Andrea may have lied about the miscarriage and given birth at Mercy Hospital, but the lie could still be discovered. Naturally, the child would be mixed-race, and it would be obvious if Andrea appeared in public in a few months with a mixed-race child.
Molly and TJ or either one of them could spot Andrea in any park or shopping, and one can’t imagine she’d never take the baby outside. There would be some bitter regrets over TJ not requesting proof of the miscarriage and something else to cause drama between the couple, and warrants for the baby’s DNA!
