Emmerdale’s Rhona Goskirk rocked by ex-husband’s arrival as he drops huge bombshell

Next week, Rhona Goskirk’s ex-husband Gus (Alan McKenna) will pay her a visit in the village, bringing a familiar face from Rhona’s past to Emmerdale viewers’ attention.
Couple Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) and Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) have had a difficult few months in Emmerdale since he had a stroke shortly after they got engaged. Since then, Rhona has been assisting her new husband with his recovery, but in scenes that will air the following week, she gets a big surprise when her ex shows up with unexpected news.

Emmerdale fans will witness yet another obstacle placed in the way of the newlyweds despite the fact that the couple has overcome difficult times in their relationship.

ITV viewers will see Marlon hurry to meet Rhona for lunch so he isn’t keeping her waiting in scenes scheduled to air next week.

However, Rhona’s ex-husband Gus arrives unexpectedly, cutting short their romantic outing.

She tells Gus they’ll have a proper catch-up the following day because she doesn’t want to ruin her meal with Marlon.

Although it quickly becomes apparent to viewers that he hasn’t just stumbled into the village, he actually has a very good reason for wanting to meet her.

Rhona honors her promise the following day and meets Gus, but when she finds out why he really came to visit, she is left speechless.

Gus surprises her by telling her that he wants to use one of their frozen embryos, which she had assumed had long since been destroyed.

After being shocked and perplexed by his request to use the embryos, Rhona learns that he has been carrying out all of this behind her back.

Rhona is faced with an impossible decision after learning that Gus has been in contact with the clinic and has been acting on her behalf without her knowledge.

Does she intend to let Gus take the embryos? Will she choose to keep them for herself now that she knows they haven’t been destroyed?

Viewers of Emmerdale will see Faye (Jane Gurentt) and Rhona’s mother Mary (Louise Jameson) getting along better in other parts of the village.

When the character first appeared in the soap opera last year, she came across as direct and not one to hide her emotions.

But following Marlon’s stroke, his future mother-in-law took the lead and a softer side emerged.

Mary came out to Kim Tate (Claire King) after becoming friends with her and confessing to having trouble doing so when she was younger.

Since then, viewers of the ITV program have witnessed Mary and Faye begin dating as they get ready to commit next week.
In later scenes, they become closer as Mary impulsively kisses Faye, much to her delight.

But when Faye waits for Mary on their date believing she’s been stood up when she’s actually fallen asleep, things quickly turn bittersweet.

Fans may get to see Mary more often as the actress recently disclosed that she had extended her contract with the sop by another year.

She assured The Sun that she would remain there through January 2024.

“In my head, I’m imagining a three- or four-year assignment perhaps a few years later. However, there are individuals here who have been coming for 25 years.
