Due to severe weather, the actors of Coronation Street evacuated the set.

The cast of Coronation Street frequently shares behind-the-scenes updates with their fans, but a recent post has some viewers worried.

The recent severe weather forced the cast to leave the set, which has caused mayhem on Coronation Street.

Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Connor, posted a video of herself departing and said they had been “rained off” on social media.

She showed them the empty lot that was totally sopped in rain as she strolled along the cobblestones of the well-known ITV site.

She wrote in the post from yesterday, “Rained off on the cobbles this morning… great start to a Monday.”

The number of scenes that were impacted and the length of time the cast was unable to film are unknown.

She wasn’t the only Corrie celebrity to inform fans of the development on social media.

Police officer Craig Tinker, played by Colson Smith, shared a photo of himself wearing shorts and sliders.

“I almost had to go into the winter wardrobe this morning,” he said as the post’s caption, along with an emoji for being frozen.

Since then, more Met Office weather warnings have been issued, and today is forecast to see additional downpours and flooding.

There is a yellow alert in effect and it will last through tomorrow.

It happens after a month’s worth of rain fell in only one day starting on Sunday.

Since there hasn’t been any word on the soap opera set, it is safe to presume that filming has already started.

Recently, Samia has appeared in a few places other than the cobbles.

She appeared on Cooking With The Stars on ITV this summer, where she once alarmed viewers when she required medical attention.

Before the episodes aired, the actress admitted: “There was a training accident when I burned my thumb and all of my fingers.

It was a really foolish error on my part. Jean-Christophe had instructed me to cover the pan handle with a tea towel, which I did.

But I also failed to remember that the cover had been placed in the oven. I burned my thumb and all of my fingers when I removed the lid with my other hand; nevertheless, I’m alright now.

ITV has been contacted by Express.co.uk for a response.
