Coronation Street was reported to have been infected by coronavirus after one cast member had been told to self-isolate for two weeks.

In a statement, the representative for Coronation Street said:' The decision on self-isolation was made by the casting member concerned as a precaution. They haven't been to work, and they don't show any symptoms. There was no interruption to shooting.' This emerged after a source told The Mirror,' The star spoke to health professionals upon coming home.
They have no symptoms but have been told to self-isolate as a precautionary measure because of where they have been. We're shooting six to eight weeks in advance, so there's room for maneuver.

Nonetheless, recent tests by the Health and Safety Executive have shown that any kind of safety is better than nothing.
