Coronation Street star Ian Bartholomew says playing evil Geoff feels “uncomfortable”.

Coronation Street 's Ian Bartholomew recently revealed that he is "uncomfortable" to play the villainous Geoff Metcalfe.

The character shocked viewers last week when he slaughtered the beloved pet chicken of Yasmeen Nazir's wife (Shelley King) as part of an ongoing plot of coercive control.

Previously, actor Ian revealed how Geoff's more "perverse" behavior caused him to film hard scenes.

"Now, he's not just manipulative, he's becoming cruel, nasty, and intentionally so," Ian addressed The Mirror.
"To kill her chicken is a turning point, for, in some twisted, perverse way, he begins to enjoy his cruelty."

He added: "I find it hard, and there are painful moments like when he pushed his mobile into the face of Yasmeen to film h.er. I've got to put Geoff in a box and open it when I need to.".
The Coronation Street team have explained their slow approach to Ian and Yasmeen's plot after the disturbing scenes. Here's the hope Yasmeen gets the support she needs soon.
