James Bailey had a hard time dealing with in Coronation Street when he bravely came out to dad Ed, who didn't handle the news very well — but there's more action ahead for the young man in the upcoming episodes as he hears of rumors of his sexuality that started circulating online. Having embarked on a friendship with Danny, James decided it was time to open up to his father, and he came back to him bravely for several weeks. Unfortunately, Ed was not handling the news all that well, resulting in tension aplenty in the Bailey household.
What's more, the words from Ed about James ' career at stake ended in Danny breaking the relationship — leaving James heartbroken.
There are tougher times ahead for James, as Coronation Street has announced that — in the upcoming episodes — during an award ceremony, he is cornered by a reporter. Sure, Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw) receives her award at The Golden Heart awards and makes her acceptance speech — as her family watches on.
However, when an interviewer approaches James and tells him about the rumors circulating online about his sexuality, matters become complicated.
After several calls from the press, James ' management calls home later in the week, and they continue to inform him that he has full support. The question is: What decision will James make? What's going to be its next move?
