Evil abuser Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) is about to fear that his control is slipping over his wife Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) on Coronation Street.
So he takes more cruel and manipulative action to leave her feeling isolated and frightened. Fans were hopeful that Yasmeen would manage to escape Geoff as she stood up to him and also started planning to flee after discovering his previous crimes through Clare’s Rule.
When Geoff comes across the domestic abuse leaflet that Yasmeen has been given, he sits and pores over the signs of coercive control and abuse and fears that Yasmeen will see him in a different light and for what he is.
He engineers it in such a way that it seems he’s encouraging her to spend time with her friend Cathy Matthews (Melanie Hill), who’s on a visit.
But while Yasmeen feels encouraged to be able to contact her friend, Geoff’s scheming soon sours the situation and makes Yasmeen think that it’s all her fault.
As Geoff manipulates the conversation so it seems like Yasmeen has humiliated Cathy, Cathy gets offended and storms off, leaving Yasmeen gutted – and Geoff warns her that it looks like she’s lost her friend for good.
As Yasmeen despairs and believes it’s her own fault that Cathy fell out with her, does Geoff get her back in the grip of his control as he determines to isolate her from all she cares about? Or is Yasmeen going to see through his despicable behaviour?
When does this craziness end please please please let it end soon. We get it emotional abuse is serious but enough is enough
