Vinta Morgan has been a part of ITV soap Coronation Street for two years playing Ronnie Bailey, but actor Vinta Morgan has looked back at his little known role on EastEnders
Vinta Morgan joined the ITV serial opera Coronation Street in 2021 and has been a part of the cast ever since for two years.
He’s already settled into Corrie, taking on the character of Ronnie Bailey, who arrived on the cobbles following his shocking departure from his business partner and wife, Kat Morgan. But Vinta has been thinking back to a small part he played on another iconic soap opera, EastEnders.
Vinta had landed a modest role on the BBC serial opera set in Walford, portraying police officer PC Phillips, long before she joined the cast of Corrie. Morgan was cast in the 2005 film, and his presence was connected to the tragic deaths of teenagers Leo Taylor and Demi Miller.
“It was about ten episodes, but of course it was no comparison to Corrie, the ultimate soap opera!” he added, laughing. I consider myself fortunate to have worked at both of these enormously successful television companies, but I really enjoy my job at Corrie.” Residents of the street were taken aback when Vinta’s character Ronnie revealed his designs for the renowned Rovers Return on the cobblestones.
Landlady Jenny Connor is devastated by his plans to convert the pub into a block of apartments and is working hard to save what’s left of her company. To exacerbate the situation, a business named Waterford’s closed the pub, forcing it to close. While viewers have been petitioning with ITV executives to maintain the pub, director of soap operas Iain MacLeod acknowledged that the establishment would be undergoing adjustments.
