As a special spin-off show arrives on our screens later this year, fans of the BBC soap opera EastEnders are set to get an additional serving of their favorite.
Former EastEnders actor Joe Swash, who portrayed Mickey Miller from 2003 to 2008, will host the one-off interview special and will speak with several of the cast members.
Legends Before the big murder reveal this Christmas, Gillian Taylforth and Letitia Dean, who played Kathy Beale and Sharon Watts in the show’s debut episode in 1985, will be interviewed.
The murder on Christmas day with six potential perpetrators and no means to determine who is dead was teased in a flash forward episode that aired in February, viewers will be aware of this.
Since then, the plot has kept viewers enthralled, with every episode painstakingly scrutinized for hints as to who the body on the floor may belong to.
The one-off interview program is anticipated to run on BBC3 in the near future.
An insider spoke to The Sun about this intriguing spin-off program, saying, “There is so much buzz around the show right now, and with so many big stories, bosses felt it was the perfect moment to give the audience an exclusive behind-the-scenes access with a one-off interview special that will be hosted by Joe Swash later in the year.”
They continued by describing how Joe’s connection to EastEnders makes him an obvious choice for the host position and making the promise that viewers would adore this special since it is “unlike one they’ve done before.”
Joe is no stranger to conducting interviews with his EastEnders co-stars; in fact, he had a significant role in the EastEnders Backstage Live program that aired right after the final live broadcast of the Who Killed Lucy Beale? plotline, which honored the 30th anniversary of the program.
EastEnders was quick to capitalize on the frenzy surrounding the current whodunit by bringing its stars to the National Television Awards wearing the show’s recognizable colors from the Christmas murder teaser.
In addition, several of the male celebrities were seen wearing the cursed cufflinks that belonged to the deceased, raising the possibility that they will pass away around Christmas.
Although the exact date of this one-off special’s broadcast has not yet been determined, EastEnders fans worldwide will undoubtedly devour it.
