Tributes flooded in for former Home And Away star Dieter Brummer, 45, after the actor was found dead in his home in July.
In a statement released on July 24, his family acknowledged his death, saying, “We lost our handsome, talented, hilarious, complicated, and adored Dieter.“
“He’s left a huge hole in our lives, and our world will never be the same without him.”
The death was not being viewed as suspicious, according to the DailyMail.
After the news came, fellow actors, family, and friends took to social media to pay respect to Dieter, who was most known for his role as Shane on Home And Away in the 1990s.
In a statement, his family said, “Our thoughts go out to those of you who knew him, loved him, or worked with him throughout the years.”
Dieter’s co-stars on Home and Away, as well as those who worked with him on Underbelly and other projects, have expressed their recollections of him.

Kristy Wright, Dieter’s former co-star, and girlfriend have talked up about the weight of his loss one month after his untimely death. She captioned this old snapshot of the celebrity on Instagram: “It’s been over a month since the world lost this kind, intelligent man.
“I’m always shocked after the loss of a loved one, by how the world just keeps on turning. The sun keeps on rising. The days keep moving forward and further away from them,” she added, before sharing a link to a Go Fund Me page created by Dieter’s mum Dawn. She’s raising money for Beyond Blue in Dieter’s memory, “so that those who are struggling can get the help they need.”
An alumnus of the TV show Home and Away After hearing of Dieter’s death, Kristy Wright posted this touching throwback photo with the caption: “I don’t have any words right now but my heart is screaming and I am numb. Rest In Peace my darling Dieter, my first true love.”
She later shared a series of images of herself and Dieter over the years, noting in her mournful caption that they began dating when she was 17 but kept their relationship a secret because he was “a very private person.” Kristy shared an impassioned narrative of their relationship, revealing how much Dieter meant to her.

Alex Dimitriades, who co-starred with Dieter in Underbelly, also posted a heartfelt message. “I always felt your anguish,” he wrote, “but we never really talked it because we were never really that close.” I knew you were one of the genuine types, perhaps a touch too genuine for this plastic society.
“Well mannered and well misunderstood. but a gentleman nonetheless, in spite of the embodied ownership of a trapped soul. Look at that smile, way too young but I guess 45 years in your head was too long. So now you may rest easy, my friend. Live your best life. That last line is a message not just for my old running mate but also for whoever reads this.
