It has been a whirlwind year for Felicity.
As beloved Australian soap Home and Away concludes for 2023, TV WEEK reflects on the best and most terrifying moments to grace the screens this year.
It has been a tough time for all the characters, but especially Felicity…
Fans of Home And Away caught their breath during the 2023 season premiere when Felicity, a soon-to-be bride (Jacqui Purvis), desperately attempted to flee a burning automobile when the brakes failed. Along with her best friend Eden (Stephanie Panozzo), she was headed to marry her fiancé Tane (Ethan Browne), but the incident put numerous lives in danger, including Tane’s, who risked the flames to save her.
Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) faced another challenge when, while she was labour, Dean’s (Patrick O’Connor) mother turned up unannounced, beer in hand! The drama was short-lived and their baby girl arrived safely, but with change in the air, the couple chose to leave Summer Bay for a fresh start in Queensland.
Wedding of The Year
After months of trauma, Flick and Tane finally got their dream wedding in front of their closest friends. The impromptu ceremony was in the bushlands of Summer Bay, where Tane surprised his bride with Māori traditions that included a kaikaranga, a ceremonial caller who welcomes guests, and poi dancers. He also wore a korowai feather cloak as a symbol of love and protection. With a declaration of love, they were husband and wife!(Image: Seven)
After a chance encounter with teen Andrew (Joshua Hewson), Justin discovered a sinister cult at work and felt he had to step in. In his efforts to save the boy, Justin was taken hostage. He was eventually saved and the cult’s leader arrested, but the thugs weren’t finished with him and later trapped Justin and Leah (Ada Nicodemou) in a warehouse with no food, water or way out.
Irene Faces Jail
Unaware her new housemate Harper was harbouring a fugitive in her room, Irene (Lynne McGranger) was rocked when police turned up asking questions. She chose not to dob in Harper or Dana – who was wanted on drug charges – but Irene’s silence saw her forced to front court in an attempt not to be sent to jail.
Dana Held Hostage
When Detective Madden (Jonny Pasvolsky) threatened to arrest her sister Harper (Jessica Redmayne) for concealing her whereabouts, Dana (Ally Harris, right) came out of hiding. But instead of taking her to the police station, he took her to a warehouse, where he intended to kill her and make it look like an accident. Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) and Harper raced to find her as Dana fought off her attacker.
Tick, Tick, Boom!
Marilyn (Emily Symons) saw skincare company Stunning Organics as an attractive business opportunity, but learned too late it was a dodgy pyramid scheme. In her efforts to expose them, Marilyn withstood vicious threats and underhanded tactics. But nothing could prepare her for the consequences of the homemade bomb smuggled into Summer Bay that exploded in a van driven by John (Shane Withington) and Roo (Georgie Parker).(Image: Seven)
New bride Felicity endured a hellish nightmare when a stranger drugged and sexually assaulted her at a concert. Tane, who was in New Zealand visiting family, returned to find his bride traumatised and triggered. Flick hit rock bottom, turning to alcohol to numb the pain.
Who Will Survive?
In the 2023 season finale, Remi (Adam Rowland) was thrown from his motorbike when it was struck by a car being driven recklessly. When Eden came across the scene, the men in the car attacked and abducted her. Meanwhile, Mac (Emily Weir) was found unconscious at the farmhouse after suffering another heart attack! Stay tuned everyone
