Despite being in a relationship with Melanie Pearson, Toadie Rebecchi kisses Rose Walker on Australian television next week.
Toadie (Ryan Moloney) and Melanie’s (Lucinda Cowden) relationship has been strained by Rose’s (Lucy Durack) reappearance, as Rose tries to win Toadie for herself.
Melanie’s mishap at the premiere party for Erinsborough’s Shorts and Brief’s film festival prompts Rose to be concerned about a potential lawsuit in forthcoming scenes on 10 Peach (via TV Week magazine). But, fortunately for her, Toadie arrives and effectively assists her.
Rose kisses Toadie while thanking him.
Toadie, taken aback by the kiss, pulls away and informs Melanie, who had warned him about Rose, about it.
“Mel has been made to appear a little crazier than she really is, and Rose has taken advantage of that,” Lucinda Cowden tells TV Week. “Rose has contributed to the notion that Mel is too ‘out there for Toadie.
“Mel soon gets the feeling that everyone – including Toadie – thinks the same way.”
Toadie apologizes and wishes to make amends with Melanie, but he is conflicted over the spark he had with Rose. He is torn between two ideas.
Ryan Moloney adds, “When things go well with Mel, they’re great.” “On the other hand, when they’re terrible, they’re very horrible.”
“Everything seems to be so light-hearted and enjoyable with Rose.” He’s perplexed.”
In about a month, these scenes will air in the United Kingdom.
