As Toadie’s (Ryan Moloney) previous love interest tries to put a wedge between him and Mel in Neighbours, Rose (Lucy Durack) is proving to be a thorn in Melanie’s (Lucinda Cowden) side.
Rose has been steadily worming her way back into Toadie’s life by undermining her love rival after waltzing in at Mel’s lowest time, where her past had come back to bite her and damaged Toadie’s reputation in the process.
While Toadie attempted to convince Mel that she had nothing to be concerned about, there is little doubt that Rose is wanting her guy now.
Mel is on pins and needles, and she has every reason to be; Rose is ready to strike once more. Melanie is accused of vandalizing Rose’s automobile without warning. Rose brings out the heavy guns to show she means business, taking the case to the cops and leaving Mel in tears; with her history coming back to haunt her and now the possibility of a criminal record, could things be any worse?
Mel accuses Rose of purposely setting her up to get Toadie all to herself, with her back against the wall. Is it possible, though, that Mel is just attempting to get the better of her? Toadie is torn between supporting his girlfriend and believing the facts because he has no way of knowing who is speaking the truth.
Rose is dead intent on winning Toadie back, and she hatches a scheme to do it. She pulls a trick on him in order to gain his attention, and it works; he finds it amusing, and the two begin a prank war.
However, tragedy comes when Mel is caught up in one of the pranks and suffers serious injuries. Toadie, understandably, is distraught as she is brought to the hospital. Rose reappears just when it appears that his concentration is in the proper place, namely, firmly on his fiancée, who needs him throughout her recovery from an injury caused by him.
Melanie’s accident threatens to cause a major insurance problem for the Film Festival, so who does Rose turn to for assistance in this possibly dangerous situation? Of course, it’s Toadie. Who will he choose to be loyal to?
Scenes will begin airing on Channel 5 on Monday, September 13th.
