He’s the former star of Home and Away, and he’s fighting brain cancer for the second time.
On Wednesday, Johnny Ruffo shared a selfie with his followers while undergoing treatment at Sydney’s Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, a cancer treatment centre.
Johnny, 33, is seen seated with a mask in an Instagram photo, as a nurse stands next to him and smiles at the camera.
‘Grateful for the nurses at Life House who keep me amused and put up with my s**t banter during treatments,’ Johnny captioned the photo.
‘You guys are the true heroes!’ he said, praising the nurses and included the hashtag ‘#bubblechat.’
The actor’s great message was met with a flood of love and support from his fans.
ohnny spoke with Seven’s Spotlight earlier this year about his health and the cancer treatments he was getting.
In the programme, he stated that he will fight brain cancer “tooth and nail” for the second time, and that his love for his fiancée Tahnee Sims was fueling his fight.
In November, the actor’s brain cancer resurfaced for a second time, causing him to have ‘seizures and severe headaches.
Johnny was diagnosed for the first time in 2017 after visiting the hospital with severe headaches.
He had a 7cm brain tumour removed in August of that year, followed by chemotherapy and radiation.
Johnny rose to popularity after placing third on the talent competition The X Factor in 2011.
From 2013 until 2016, he played Chris Harrington on Home and Away.
