Next week, Jasmine Delaney of Home and Away will play a local hero in the United Kingdom, when she rushes to aid the injured after Ryder Jackson and Chloe Anderson’s food truck explodes.
A routine morning in the Bay is turned upside down when the car explodes under strange circumstances, putting people in jeopardy.
Jasmine attempts to help her friends and neighbours after Dean Thompson puts out a fire created by the blast. Unfortunately, her condition deteriorates when she falls and is brought to the hospital.
Sam Frost, who plays Jasmine, gives a sneak peek at the emotional sequences.
Jasmine is now dragged into Tori and Christian’s relationship problems. What is her reaction to this?
“It’s undeniably a difficult circumstance to be in.” Christian is blurring the lines with his patient Rachel, and Jas is concerned that it is causing harm to her friend Tori.
“She’s tired of Christian’s pranks, and all she wants is for the couple to iron out their differences and live happily ever after.”
Jasmine has lately learned the shocking truth about Lewis. Would you have wanted to learn more about that story?
“I think Lewis and Jasmine made a fantastic couple. Jas saw obvious energy between the two, and their shared experience of losing relationships meant they had a deep understanding of one another.
“However, I don’t think Jasmine will ever forgive Lewis for attempting to murder Christian and the other patients.”
“She understands his pain and sorrow, but there is never a reason to take another person’s life.”
“In the end, I think fans, like me, just want to see Jas happy, and I sincerely hope that’s the case.”
What was it like to film the explosion scenes?
“It was a lot of fun filming the food truck explosion. We all behave as if it’s just another day in the Bay at the start of the scenario, but at the conclusion, there’s utter shock, sorrow, and ruin.
“On the big day, the performers and crew work diligently to ensure that all of the moving parts, such as hair, special effects, make-up, and stunts, come together perfectly.
“I’m very pleased to be a part of these dramatic and thrilling tales,” she says.
What do you have to say about Jasmine’s attempt to save everyone?
“Jas is in survival mode because she is so concerned about making sure everyone else is safe.” After finding herself in this predicament as the lone nurse on the site, she thinks she has a responsibility to do everything she can to look after everyone and triage the situation.
“After the explosion, it’s quite hectic, and there’s not much time to think about anything beyond assisting the individuals who have been hurt and are in critical condition.”
Don’t we witness Jasmine collapsing and having a difficult time in the hospital?
“Yes, Jas is fragile right now since she is suffering from periodic memory loss and has no idea what’s going on.”
“Thankfully, Irene and Christian will be there to assist Jas in the next days, and we are optimistic that she will recover completely.”
What was it like working with Lynne McGranger, who portrays Irene, on the dramatic hospital scenes?
“Lynne is incredible, and I adore filming sequences with her.” Irene and Jas have gone through so much together, and their relationship is strong and genuine.
“Whether it’s a serious moment or something more light-hearted, we always enjoy the time we spend working together.” Lynne is both a talented performer and a great comic.”
What do you want Jasmine’s future to be like?
“I feel it is past time for Jas to have some joy in her life… and possibly even some romance!”
