Roo (Georgie Parker) has just received two sets of unexpected news: the hospital informing Alf (Ray Meagher) that Martha (Belinda Giblin) is ready to return home, and Kieran’s (Rick Donald) attorneys informing Roo that he must move in with them if he wants to escape incarceration.
After some procrastinating, Martha finds that Kieran has contacted her once she returns to the Bay, but she refuses to see him because she isn’t ready. She and Alf decide to take a trip to Merimbula to help her acclimatise to life back in the city.
When Roo is alone in her Summer Bay home, she receives a tap on the door and is surprised to discover Kieran standing there. He attempts to explain why he’s suddenly appeared and claims to be 12 weeks sober, but Roo is sceptical.
Kieran is upset by the update, which Roo reluctantly asks him about inside. Roo tells how Martha has been battling and has only recently left hospital, and Roo reluctantly asks him inside. He delivers Roo a paper and says he has a favour for her.
He claims it’s for his mother as part of his recovery and that she may read it first if she’s unsure about what’s within.
She can then choose whether or not she wants to offer it to Martha. He exits the home, leaving Roo with some food for thought…
