Bella’s (Courtney Miller) exhibition is approaching, and Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) has been trying to entice Tane (Ethan Browne) to go, but he doesn’t want to put Bella (Courtney Miller) off following her separation with Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo). Dean (Patrick O’Connor) overhears their conversation and assures Tane that Bella would be grateful for his help.
Dean recommends that the three of them go to the event together in the city, and Ziggy realises how uncomfortable the vehicle ride will be for her. Tane makes a joke about being uncomfortable because she wants to hook up with Dean, but she doesn’t grasp it at the moment.
At the Surf Club the next day, Justin (James Stewart) and Ziggy discuss business, and he observes her staring wistfully at Dean as he goes along the beach. He interrupts their discussion to talk about what’s truly on her mind, and she says she’s dreading the trip to the city with the three of them because she doesn’t know how she feels for Dean anymore.
Tane is on his way to meet Ziggy and Dean at the vehicle the next day when he receives a text from Bella stating Nikau has arrived at the Pier Apartment. He creates an excuse about not being able to come and leaves Ziggy and Dean to drive to the city alone, realising he has to keep Nikau away from Bella for the day.
Bella is anxious about the event at the gallery, but Ziggy and Dean reassure her. Later, when the old couple is feeling frightened by the art throng, Dean invites her to accompany him for a bit.
Later, in a quiet location, Ziggy can no longer suppress her feelings and kisses Dean. He’s taken aback, but he can’t help himself, and things rapidly heat up…
