Home and Away next week Mia and Ari will receive some wonderful news, but it’s not long before the concern overflows. Has your child’s journey struck a roadblock even before it started?
Mia (Anna Samson) and Rob Kipa-Williams had been quite worried about their baby efforts. Before Ari was put into prison, the couple made several efforts to have a family together, but they were all tangled by failure and disappointment.
In their years together, Mia had several miscarriages. She finally gave birth to a kid – Kauri – but soon after he was born, he perished.
The couple had still a box of his stuff, and Ari was reunited with that box of memories last month.
The recently re-connected couple are still anxious to create their own family despite all the anguish that the baby gave them.
It took Ari time to persuade Chloe (Sam Barrett) that he always saw her as his daughter and that having a kid never would alter that. All three of them are in the process of trying for a kid by Ari and Mia.
The couple have some positive news next week, but their troublesome background means that concern immediately begins.
Next Monday when Ari goes to the beach, worried that Mackenzie may be the body that the police retrieve out of the bay, Mia has other plans.
When she goes to the gym and fights to concentrate, she felt ill. As she gives a fitness class, she can hardly keep her calm. When Tane tells her Mac’s news is alive, her painful response makes him realise something’s wrong.
She asks Tane whether she might give her a lift home as her day of work finishes at an early date. She needs him only to stop quickly on the way…
When Ari comes home, he is afraid that his ex-friend has upset Mia, going to check. He can’t be far from the truth, however. He is trying to explain himself, but Mac says to shut it up immediately.
She says with a smile, “I’m pregnant.”
He is thrilled to fling his hands in the air totally lost for words.
In the days ahead, they’re all about one other. You have enthusiasm mingled with dread – you were here before and although you may be pregnant this time fairly rapidly, you still realise that there is a possibility that everything will crash like you did many times before.
But it’s different this time, Ari adds, this time it’s stronger.
You agree that you always have to be honest with each other, Mia assures Ari that he isn’t strong for her. “We simply continue to chat whatever happens.”
One thing remains to be done – inform Chloe (Sam Barrett).
But Mia gets a disturbing call before they can. It is late in the evening, but her doctor wants to see them for a quick-tracking ultrasound the following day.
They don’t know why they phone and jump the queue after hours, but they are afraid the worst because of their past. Has the pregnancy already gone wrong?
They decide to wait until they have the ultrasonic findings before giving Chloe the news, but it doesn’t seem that straightforward when they get a text in the hospital asking where it is.
But if Chloe later sees how suspected she is acting back at the home, she knows something more is happening here. She tells her they’re grocery shopping.
Ari realises when she believes she breaks up again that she has no other alternative than to tidy up.
Mia announces, “I’m pregnant.”
Chloe searches for delight and jumps for joy, and from their subdued replies understands something. “Good news, right, right?”
“Yes, it is, um…” “Yeah.
They get the phone call that they’ve dreaded — the obstetrician with the results before Ari is given an opportunity to explain. Yet they weren’t afraid of it… it’s wonderful news!
All is excellent, the baby is strong. All is well. There was no panic, all was in their minds, only remaining dread from prior experiences. Moreover, Mia’s more than they had expected.
The elation may finally arrive.
Although she’s first worried about being left behind, Chloe appears to be the most delighted. “Is it official, therefore? “I’ll be a big sister, all right?!”
Your pregnant trip has started well and truly. Is things going to remain that easy over the next months?
