Two relationships are on the line on this week’s episode of Home and Away in Australia, as both Dean and Ziggy and Tori and Christian confront challenges in their recently restored love tales. Is love on the cards for Mac and Logan in the meantime?
When Dean Thompson (Patrick O’Connor) smashed his automobile a few weeks ago, he never expected it to lead to his reconciliation with Ziggy Astoni (Sophie Dillman).
Ziggy couldn’t stay away from when his life was in jeopardy. Ziggy may have appeared blissfully happy with her new lover Tane (Ethan Browne) after almost a year apart, but it appears her feelings for Dean were still boiling beneath the surface.
They enjoyed a brief kiss during Bella’s (Courtney Miller) exhibition, but it was evident that Ziggy wasn’t ready for them to get back together when she couldn’t tell Dean that she forgave him.
The sight of him in a hospital bed, on the other hand, made her realize she didn’t want to lose him. She ultimately forgave him for harboring Colby’s (Tim Franklin) dark secret last week, and the two shared a heartfelt kiss.
“I think Ziggy forgave Dean the second she thought she’d lost him,” Sophie Dillman told TV Week.
Dean has always harbored feelings for his ex, so for him, it was a no-brainer. He was over the moon to have her back.
However, this week his feelings suddenly change, as he orders her out of his hospital room!
He’s learned from Lnew Dr. Logan (Harley Bonner) that he’ll be undergoing months of physiotherapy. He was badly hurt in the accident, and it reminded him of the difficulties he faced the previous time he was in a severe collision. It’s excruciatingly uncomfortable and exhausting, and he doesn’t want to put his friends and family through it.
So, he begins to push them away – Ziggy included!
“Dean clearly still loves Ziggy,” Patrick tells TV Week, “but the situation he’s found himself in is leading him to regress inwards.”
When Ziggy pays him a visit to the hospital, she notices how difficult the physio program is for him. She inquires as to if he requires additional pain medication, but the fact that she can see he is in pain drives him to become enraged, and he orders her out of his room!
His pride suffers as a result. He wants to be there for Zig; he doesn’t want her to have to look after him physically after they’ve been apart for so long.
Thankfully, Ziggy persists in his efforts, returning to the hospital with Logan and Mackenzie (Emily Weir) for moral support. However, this exacerbates the situation, and Dean becomes aggressive toward the three of them before ordering them to leave.
Can Ziggy talk him around before he throws away his new relationship for good?
Despite Dean’s upset, there’s love in the air this week in Summer Bay and it’s taking the seaside town by storm.
