EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick has sparked rumors of a secret romance after he was seen with a mystery woman.
Following a night out in London on Thursday, the actor, who plays Jay Brown in the BBC serial, was pictured looking extremely coy.
The 27-year-old was pictured leaving Frankie Bridge’s book launch for GROW, alongside a mystery woman.
He was all grins as he strolled around the streets of the capital, dressed casually in narrow jeans and a striped navy T-shirt, which he paired with crisp white sneakers.
His mystery friend, on the other hand, dressed up for the occasion in a halterneck black crop top and flared black slacks.
She added a dreamy colorful tweed blazer to her look, with the jacket slung over her shoulders.
Jamie has yet to publicly address any speculation over a new romance.
The soap star first joined EastEnders in 2006, playing troubled child Jay Brown – with his character being a staple of Walford ever since.
Jay is now dating Honey (Emma Barton), which has caused some consternation in the Square because her ex-husband, Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick), is still struggling to accept their developing romance.
Emma recently told up about the hurdles they’ve faced behind the scenes to ensure the connection works properly on-screen in a recent interview.
Chatting to Inside Soap, she confessed that coronavirus restrictions haven’t made this an easy prospect.
‘Everything I’ve seen has been incredibly positive; people love the characters,’ she remarked of the response from viewers. ‘However, there are still many who say, “Oh no, we don’t want Honey to reunite with Billy!”
‘What’s been difficult is that we’re bound by the Covid rules, which means we can’t display any affection, which is a shame in a new relationship.’ And Jamie is a little irritated about it!
He says, “You’ve been my dream woman for years, and the time I finally get to kiss you, there’s a plastic screen in front of me!” So that’s been a bit of a joke between us on set!
‘Honey, Jay, and Billy have so much history, so I was really interested to see what direction it was going to go in, and how the audience was going to react to it,’ she added. ‘Perry and Jamie are two of my best friends, so it’s been really enjoyable to do.’
