In a thrilling new preview for SAS Australia, Dan Ewing of Home and Away revealed his desire to become a better version of himself.
Dan appeared on the drama from 2011 to 2014 as River Boy Heath Braxton before returning late last year to resume Dan played River Boy Heath Braxton on the soap from 2011 to 2014 before returning late last year to reprise his role.
Dan, on the other hand, is set to go on his most difficult assignment yet on SAS Australia, where 18 Australian celebrities will be put through a battery of physical and psychological tests similar to those used in the actual SAS selection process.
“There’s no acting on this course for me. There’s no cut, there’s no trailer. This is Dan Ewing,” the 36-year-old told the camera in the sneak peek for the upcoming season.
“What does Dan Ewing do when he’s sleep-deprived? What will Dan do when his back’s against the wall?”
Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox, one of the show’s directorial team, questioned Dan why he came on the show during a grueling log-lifting test.
“Trying to become a better version of myself,” a visibly exhausted Dan responded.
Dan later stated that his “meticulous attention to detail” will aid him on the course.
“What’s going to be of benefit as an actor is my preparation,” he said.
“I won’t have my medication music, candles…”
“Your parents ain’t going to be here to tidy up for you or your slaves,” chief instructor Ant Middleton was heard shouting at the recruits.
Dan was seen in the trailer strapped to the seat of a sinking automobile, abseiling down a cliff face head-first, and plunging out of a helicopter into a freezing cold lake.
Ironman Jett Kenny, NRL player Sam Burgess, celebrity chef Manu Feildel, volleyball champion Kerri Pottharst, musician Pete Murray, and tennis star Mark Philippoussis are among the cast members of the series.
Dan was previously married for three years to Marni Little, with whom he has a six-year-old son, Archie. In December 2015, the former couple announced their divorce.
Dan’s new relationship with dancer Kat Risteska was a fresh start for him after a tumultuous divorce.
In 2016, the Home and Away star announced their romance by posting a candid photo of the brunette beauty writing on a Christmas card on his Instagram page.
Dan claimed that he was the one who originally approached Kat via social media during an interview on Channel Seven’s The Morning Show in 2018.
“I was single for about eight months give or take… and then it was just months of stalking her [online] really!” he revealed.
