After Michael worried Grace, Ed and Aggie face Grace’s wrath. When Ed and Aggie Bailey’s son Michael breaks her heart next week, Grace Vickers of Coronation Street plans to blackmail them.
Grace and Michael have been co-parenting while living at the Bailey home together since the birth of their baby daughter Glory earlier this year. They recently rekindled their romantic relationship, but Michael has since regretted his decision, admitting to his uncle Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) that he merely rekindled their relationship so that Glory has parents who are together.
Next week, Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) shows Grace the details of a house he and Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw) purchased at auction, telling her that the couple intends to renovate and rent it out.
When Grace discusses her desire to set up a house with Michael and Glory, Ed provides advice and financial help. Michael feigns to be enthusiastic, but Grace tells that he is resistant to the thought of them moving into their own home and is disappointed.
She tells Michael that she’s been offered a new job in Hull and is tempted to take it. Michael advises that they hold until his babygrow business is more established before getting their own place, in keen to keep Grace and Glory local.
Grace offers to work with Michael with his business, but is this something Michael truly needs? Ronnie encourages Michael to tell Grace the truth about the fact that he does not love her and to set up a house with her later in the week.
Michael acknowledges his uncle’s right but dreads the inevitable fallout. When Ed and Aggie get home, they are horrified to find Grace furiously packing her belongings and preparing to leave for Hull.
Aggie refuses to let Grace leave Number 3 with her grandchild and blocks her exit. Grace then offers a demand: she will stay in Weatherfield if Ed and Aggie will provide her the house they are renovating so she and Glory may live there.
Grace’s blackmail is discussed by Aggie and Ed, who are upset with the situation Grace has put them in. If Michael is to maintain Glory in his life, Ed feels they have no choice but to acquiesce to Grace’s demands.
Grace’s behavior upsets Aggie, but will she give to Grace’s blackmail?
