Will Todd tell his mother, Eileen, about what he has discovered? Next week on Coronation Street, Todd Grimshaw discovers a shocking discovery at the undertakers, revisiting the murderous Pat Phelan’s story.
Todd has been dumped by partner Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and shunned by many of the Street as a result of his recent scheming – but one person who has defended Todd is George Shuttleworth, his boss at the undertakers.
Next week, Todd chooses that he needs to express his to thank George for standing by him after everyone else had turned against him as a result of his underhand behavior.
Todd gets work on a thorough clean-up of the undertakers’ storeroom, hoping that George will be delighted. However, it’s evident that George has something to hide as he tries to hide mask his discomfort at Todd’s rummaging.
George’s fears are realized when Todd emerges from the storeroom with the deceased Phelan’s ashes, enraged that George has been hidden them from all his time from his mother, Eileen Grimshaw, who was married to the villain at the time of his death.
George confesses that he’s never found the perfect moment to tell Eileen about the ashes and is unsure how to deal with the situation. What will Todd choose to do with his newfound discovery?
Eileen is perhaps far delighted to be reminded of her past husband, who was revealed to be a calculating murderer after she married him.
After Eileen found the truth about his nature, she had a horrifying showdown with him on a clifftop, result in him appearing to fall to his death – but it was afterward revealed that Phelan had survived and returned to the cobbles to continue his reign of terror.
Phelan was killed by his old nemesis, Anna Windass, after shooting Michelle Connor and his own daughter, Nicola Rubinstein.
Eileen had also been seen struggling to recover from her traumatic experience with Phelan, finding it difficult to be intimate with old love interest Jan Lozinski. Is it possible that this finding will set her back again?
